This Week June 21, 2022

Hi Folks,

Hope you are all well!

Thank you to everyone who participated in any way with our church auction.  It was a lot of fun and a great success!

Wednesday Night Concerts on the Green begin tomorrow evening, June 22, and run through August 31. There will be no concert on June 29. The Vitality Team is once again handing out water as a goodwill gesture to our community. Donations of bottled water would be greatly appreciated.  Please put it in the Fellowship Hall, marked with “COG”.

With the Concerts on the Green, the Men's Group's Hot Dog season begins June 22!  Any guys out there who can help, please do!

Our own Hannah has proven to be quite an artist!  She has shown her painting at displays in Oxford and Stamford.  Hannah will bring her artwork to HCCUCC on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 24, 24, & 26.  Friday and Saturday are 10 A.M. to 6 P.M.  Sunday is after worship for church folk and the public from Noon to 5 p.m.  Some proceeds will go to benefit HCCUCC.

This Sunday is the Third Sunday after Pentecost.  The scripture is Luke Galatians 5:13-25.  The sermon is "Fruit of the Spirit".  The service is on-site, and Facebook live streamed.

VALLEY REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROJECT needs volunteers! Tasks would include (but not limited to) teaching English as a second language, driving to appointments, setting up housing, getting supplies, and teaching driving skills. If you have any questions, please contact: Bob Margolies at 203-400-1769 or email: rmargolies@mac.com.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House is in need of these items: shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce.  There is a box in the Alcove and also the "wishing well" in Fellowship Hall for your donations.  Please be generous!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  Holy One, here on this longest day, may your light of life and love shine brightly in our hearts and in your world.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
