Hope you are all well!  It's good to be back in the swing at church again!

Tonight is our final 2015 Concert on the Green.  The Vitality Team will be handing out water, doing sign-ups for a free Starbuck's gift card, and the Men's Group will be selling hot dogs.  Come say hi!

This Sunday's scripture is James 1:17-27.  The sermon is "Just Do It!"  We will be celebrating the sacrament of baptism for Kylie Marcks.

The 3rd. Annual Bruce Hartel Memorial Car Show is this Sunday from 12 to 4.  Come on out and see the cool cars!!

Please note that the Congregational Meeting that was scheduled for September 13 has been canceled.

Let us pray.  The beauty of your creation, O God, is magnificent.  Please give us the eyes to see it, the heart to appreciate it, and the will to preserve and protect it.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

This Week August 11

Dear Folks,

Yes, the day is dreary and wet, but we do need the rain!  Besides, the rainy days make the sunny days all the more bright!

We offer our deepest condolences to the Jones Family on the passing of Philip.  His Memorial Service is planned for Friday, November 13, 1 P.M. at HCCUCC.

This Wednesday's Concert on the Green will feature "Radio Waves".  The Men's Group will be selling hot dogs and the Vitality Team will be handing out free water and a sign up for a free gift card.  We are still in need of water for the remaining Wednesdays, so a donation of water would be appreciated! Whatever we have left will go for the Car Show.

This coming Sunday, Rita Boland will be sharing the message.  On Sunday, August 23, James Bruni will be sharing the message.

Don't forget to come to the 3rd. Annual Bruce Hartel Memorial Car Show on Sunday, August 30, noon to 4 P.M. Admission is free!! Donations of water, soda, and gift cards would be greatly appreciated before hand!

O God of the sun and of the rain, we trust, that whatever life hands us, your loving, strong, and steadfast presence is with us.  Help us to rely on you.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille

Philip Jones' Passing

Dear Folks,

I am very sad to announce that Philip Jones passed away last night.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family would appreciate your prayers, but would prefer no calls or visits at this time.

Phil was a great man and a huge part of Shelton's history and life.  He will be greatly missed.

Peace,
Rev. Lucille

Thid Week August 4, 2015

Dear Folks,

Can you believe it is August already?  The summer is flying!

Just a reminder that Karen Boroski, our Office Manager, is on vacation until August 12.

We are down to 4 more Wednesday night Concerts on the Green.  The Men's Group are selling hot dogs and the Vitality Team is giving out free water and providing a free chance at a gift card.  Thank you to all who donated the $25 gift cards.  Your generosity is a blessing!  We could use more water, so if anyone would like to donate water, please bring it to church and mark it for the Vitality Team or Concerts on the Green.  Whatever water we have left over we will use for the Car Show on August 30.  More info about that later.  This Wednesday's offerings include a children's program at 6 P.M. with "Lynn Lewis and Friends" and the band "Mia & The Riff" at 7 P.M.

My prayer day is this Thursday, August 6.  If you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up, please let me know.

I will be performing the wedding of our member Eric Gerhard and his fiancee, Daniela Castiglia this Friday.  Blessings on them!

This Sunday, we will be celebrating the baptism of two little girls, Nora Jean Armstrong and Gracie Lynn Cook.  The scripture lesson is Ephesians 4:1-16.  The sermon is "Many in One".

The Third Annual Bruce E. Hartel Memorial Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 30, 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. in the church parking lot. How can you help? Bring in a case of water or soda for us to sell the day of the show-you can put it in Fellowship Hall any time~~Post a flyer at any of the places of business you frequent - see Karen in the office~~ Distribute flyers at any local car shows or cruise nights-see Karen in the office~~Solicit or purchase merchant gift cards/certificates for use as People's Choice Awards~~Sign up to help on the day of the show - see sign-up sheet in the alcove~~Donate to the American Cancer Society of the HCCUCC Organ fund in memory of Bruce~~~Come to the Car Show!

Let us pray.  We know your presence is always with us, O God.  Help us to know it, to feel it, and to claim it.  No matter what we face, we never face it alone.  Thank you, O God!  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev Lucille
