Thid Week August 4, 2015

Dear Folks,

Can you believe it is August already?  The summer is flying!

Just a reminder that Karen Boroski, our Office Manager, is on vacation until August 12.

We are down to 4 more Wednesday night Concerts on the Green.  The Men's Group are selling hot dogs and the Vitality Team is giving out free water and providing a free chance at a gift card.  Thank you to all who donated the $25 gift cards.  Your generosity is a blessing!  We could use more water, so if anyone would like to donate water, please bring it to church and mark it for the Vitality Team or Concerts on the Green.  Whatever water we have left over we will use for the Car Show on August 30.  More info about that later.  This Wednesday's offerings include a children's program at 6 P.M. with "Lynn Lewis and Friends" and the band "Mia & The Riff" at 7 P.M.

My prayer day is this Thursday, August 6.  If you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up, please let me know.

I will be performing the wedding of our member Eric Gerhard and his fiancee, Daniela Castiglia this Friday.  Blessings on them!

This Sunday, we will be celebrating the baptism of two little girls, Nora Jean Armstrong and Gracie Lynn Cook.  The scripture lesson is Ephesians 4:1-16.  The sermon is "Many in One".

The Third Annual Bruce E. Hartel Memorial Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 30, 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. in the church parking lot. How can you help? Bring in a case of water or soda for us to sell the day of the show-you can put it in Fellowship Hall any time~~Post a flyer at any of the places of business you frequent - see Karen in the office~~ Distribute flyers at any local car shows or cruise nights-see Karen in the office~~Solicit or purchase merchant gift cards/certificates for use as People's Choice Awards~~Sign up to help on the day of the show - see sign-up sheet in the alcove~~Donate to the American Cancer Society of the HCCUCC Organ fund in memory of Bruce~~~Come to the Car Show!

Let us pray.  We know your presence is always with us, O God.  Help us to know it, to feel it, and to claim it.  No matter what we face, we never face it alone.  Thank you, O God!  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev Lucille
