This Week January 25, 2022

Dear Folks,
Hope you are all well.
The scripture for Sunday is Jeremiah 1:4-10. The sermon is "Called". The on-line bulletin will be sent out on Friday.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House is in need of these items: shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce. There is a box in the Alcove and the "wishing well" in Fellowship Hall for your donations. Please be generous!
Homeless Bags Update: Thank you to all who have donated items to the box in the alcove. Your generosity is so very appreciated! Please note that warm cold weather socks (new, not used) are needed as well as nail clippers, hats/gloves (new or gently used), bars (like granola), personal wipes for hands, lip balms, masks, hand sanitizer and toothpaste (small so they fit in a gallon plastic bag with other items).
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you choose to give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.
Let us pray. O Holy God, in these unsettled days, help us to know that you are our strong refuge and our solid foundation. May we put our trust in you. Amen.
In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille

This Week January 11, 2022

Dear Folks,

Hope you are staying warm in this cold!

My prayer day is this Thursday.  If you have any joys or concerns to raise up, please let me know.

The Council voted this evening by a 5 to 4 vote to resume in person worship starting this coming Sunday, January 16.  Facebook Live-streaming will continue.  Please follow the COVID protocols of wearing masks and socially distancing. There will not be any reservations or assigned seating but be mindful of social distancing. If you would like to have some conversation before or after worship, please do not clog up the Alcove.  You can either go outside or go to the Fellowship Hall (keeping socially distanced).  There will also be no singing.

This Sunday, January 9, is the Baptism of Christ.  We will be virtual only, no in-person worship.  The scripture is Luke 3:15-17, 21-22.  The sermon is "What's in That Water?"  I will send out the bulletin and the Facebook link on Friday.

There is a box in the Alcove and also the "wishing well" in Fellowship Hall for your donations.  Please be generous!

Let us pray.  O God, we know that you above all time. Our new year is but a marker for us.  May we tap into your eternity, living out the timeless message of love in our lives now and always.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
