This Week August 25, 2020

Dear Folks,

 

I hope you are all doing well, staying cool and safe!

 

This Sunday, August 30, is the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost. Our service will be outdoors in the back parking lot of HCCUCC at 9:30 A.M. It will also be live streamed on Facebook. Reservations are required, as are face masks and physical distancing. Please contact the church office at 203-929-1223 by Thursday, August 27.

 

The service depends on good weather (not too hot, no rain), so be sure to check FACEBOOK on Saturday, August 29 in case of a cancellation.

 

The scripture for Sunday is Romans 12:9-21. The sermon is "Overcome".

 

We will also be taking imperishable food items in for the Valley Food Bank.

 

Let us pray. O God, may your wrap your protective, comforting arms around your world. We really need it. Amen.

This Week August 11, 2020

 Dear Folks,

Please keep praying for the increasing list of suffering in our world. 2020 is a doozy of year.

This Sunday, August 16, is the Eleventh Sunday After Pentecost. The scripture is Hebrews 12:1-2. I will be reflecting on the roots of our faith. The Facebook live stream will be at 11 A.M.

Dear Folks,

Keep safe during the coming storm. Prayers rising for those who experienced loss and who are in harm's way.

This Sunday, August 9, is the Tenth Sunday After Pentecost. The scripture is Matthew 14:22-33. The sermon is "In The Water". The worship bulletin will be send out on Friday.

Prayers continue to rise for healing, justice, and peace in our nation and in our world.

 

This Sunday, August 2, is the Ninth Sunday After Pentecost.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion, so be sure to have your elements handy.  The scripture is Matthew 14:13-21.  The sermon is "Being Fed".

This Sunday, July 26, is the Eighth Sunday After Pentecost. The scripture is Romans 8:26-39. The reflection is "Deep Sigh". This will be another Outdoor Worship in the Taize style in the church's back parking lot. Reservations are required. Just drop me a note on HCCUCC's Facebook page by Thursday, July 23. The Church Street entrance will be closed, so please use the Ripton Road entrance. Thank you!
