This Thursday, February 12, is my Prayer Day.  Please let me know if you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up.

This coming Sunday, February 16, is Transfiguration.  The scripture is Matthew 17:1-9.  The sermon is "Revelations on the Journey".  The choir will be singing. The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.  

Lenten Quiet Hour begins on Wednesday, February 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the library and via Zoom.  We are using the book “An Unlikely Lent” by Rachel Billups.  The discussion will be led by Rev. Lucille.  Please sign up in the Alcove or contact Rev. Lucille.

Huntington United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church, Masonicare, and HCCUCC will hosting a series of Lenten Dinners and programs, “Lessons in the Wilderness”. HUMC will be hosting the Ash Wednesday Service on February 18 at 7 P.M. There will be no meal or fellowship time. FUMC will be hosting on Thursday, February 26, and HCCUCC on Wednesday, March 11, both at 6 P.M. starting with dinner then a program. Masonicare will be hosting a program at 7 P.M. at Wesley Heights on Wednesday, March 25. Offering will benefit Spooner House. Please make checks out directly to Spooner House.

Women’s Fellowship will be preparing Manhattan and New England Clam Chowder and a variety of homemade breads. To place your order, sign up on the sheet in the alcove or call Linda Sember 203-929-5853. Pick-up will be on Sunday, March 1st & 29th. Chowder is $12.00 per quart. The prices of homemade breads vary.

Scout Sunday is February 22.

New Members’ Class will be held following worship Sunday, February 22 in the library.

Lay Leaders are needed for the first Sunday of the month. Please consider doing this important ministry.  Sign-up sheet is in the Alcove.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – February’s giving focus is canned veggies, chicken/beef/vegetable broth, canned fruit, and cooking oils. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked. We are in winter protocol, so please, no items that can freeze! Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Women’s Fellowship is sponsoring a Winter Coat Drive for the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.  Please bring new or gently used coats and/or cold weather accessories. Donation box is the Alcove.  Share the gift of warmth!

Women’s Fellowship is collecting items for CWS Hygiene Kits. PLEASE NOTE THE REVISED LIST: One travel-size deodorant (3.4 oz or less, non-aerosol), One travel-size lotion (3.4 oz or less, fragrance-free, new only), One travel-size shampoo (3.4 oz or less, new only), One travel-size toothpaste (3.4 oz or less, with at least 1-year expiration), One sturdy, wide-tooth comb (minimum 6 inches of teeth; remove packaging). The box for donations is in the Alcove. Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed – We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital.
