Laissez les bon temps rouler! It's Mardi Gras!Lent begins tomorrow, March 5th with Ash Wednesday.
Quiet Hour will be held on Wednesdays in Lent at 10 a.m. in the library. We are continuing with the book, “The Friendship of Women”.
The Shelton Community Ash Wednesday Service will be held at HCCUCC at 7 p.m. The service will be live streamed on Facebook and saved on Facebook and YouTube for later viewing.
This Sunday, March 9, is the First Sunday in Lent. The scripture is Luke 4:1-13. The sermon is "Lessons from the Wilderness". The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.
Women’s Fellowship will hold their Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Sunday, March 16th at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under. Hot dog dinners: 2 hotdogs w/vegetables-$10.00; 1 hot dog w/chips-$4.00. Tickets are on sale after worship, or you may contact the church.
Shelton Community Lenten Dinner & Devotions will be held on Wednesdays, March 12 at Huntington United Methodist Church, March 26 at HCCUCC and April 9 at First United Methodist Church. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by devotions at 7 p.m. The theme is "Unified in Hope". The offering will go to Spooner House. Please write checks directly to Spooner House.
VRRP is still active and investigating other avenues to bring the family to safety. Please watch for updates.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove. Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box is almost empty and needs to be stocked. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed. There are clean-ups happening still from flooding and wildfires We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.
