This Week April 30, 2024

 Dear Folks,

I hope you're having a good week.

This Sunday, May 5, is the Sixth Sunday of Easter.  The scripture is John 15:9-17.  The sermon is "On Our Side".  We will be celebrating Holy Communion.

14th ANNUAL AUCTION - Saturday, May 11th, 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. More info in the Alcove!

May 12 is CHURCH WORLD SERVICE BLANKET SUNDAY - Every year, we take this offering to reach with love to touch those in need. Last year thousands of CWS Blankets were distributed throughout the U.S. and across the globe. Share your blessings and increase the outreach this year. Envelopes will be in the pews.

CHURCH WORLD SERVICE HEALTH KITS: Women’s Fellowship will be collecting items to fill kits during May & June.  Items needed: Hand towels, Wide tooth combs, Fingernail or toenail clippers, Bath size bars of soap in package, Standard size band aids. There will be a box for donations in the Alcove. Any questions see Lois Ricker.

TAG SALE - Women’s Fellowship is holding its annual Tag Sale on June 8 from 9—2:00 (rain date is June15).  Gently used items may be donated and dropped off in Reuman House. Please make sure items are clean. We appreciate if you price them. Price stickers will be available in the alcove for those who need them. Spaces are available for $20, payable the day of the event. We are also looking for donations of baked goods to sell that day. Any questions, see Lois Ricker or Denise Wilson.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove.  Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked.  Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Funds For Clean-Up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  When the days are long and the times are trying, O God, hold us in your care.  May you strengthened us with your love and hope.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
