This Week May 26, 2020

Dear Folks,

I hope you had a restful, peaceful, and grateful Memorial Day.

This Sunday, May 31, is Pentecost. Our service will be live streamed on Facebook at 9:30 A.M.

The scripture for Sunday is Acts 2:1-21. The sermon is "Fire!". Please wear red and have some "fire" in your worship space, like a candle or a lantern with a flame. If it's chilly, maybe even have a lit fireplace.

The service will be saved and can be viewed later on Facebook or YouTube. I will send out the links on Sunday along with a summary of the sermon.

The "Strengthen the Church" offering is this coming Sunday, May 31. The Strengthen the Church offering supports the expansion of ministry and growth of UCC local congregations. Your support of this offering will help the UCC fulfill on its commitment to creating a just world for all by investing in new ministries and practices that meet the emerging needs of local communities. Our own Silver Lake Conference center is a recipient of funds, as well as other Southern New England Conference ministries. See the offering blurb below as how you can give. Mark your donation clearly. Also, if you have not already given to the March One Great Hour of Sharing offering, please consider doing so. OGHS is our outreach into the world.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. The GIVEPLUS+ app can be downloaded on your cell phone. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@s net.net if you would like a form to set that up. However you choose to give will be a blessing and greatly appreciated.

Let us pray. O Holy God, as we await the celebration of the coming of your Holy Spirit upon Christ's followers, may our hearts be receptive to the movement of your Holy Spirit in our hearts. May the holy fire burn within us, setting our lives ablaze with your love and light that we may ignite the world. Amen.

As always, you are in my prayers and in my heart.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
