This Week May 21, 2019

Dear Folks,

I hope you are enjoying this lovely day!

May you all have a safe Memorial Day Weekend.  Do not forget to take a moment to remember and honor those who have passed, especially those members of our Armed Forces.

This Sunday, May 26, is the Sixth Sunday of Easter.  The scripture is John 14:23-29.  The sermon is "State of the Heart".  We will have a moment to commemorate Memorial Day.  We will also have the reception of new members.

June 2 will be Music Sunday.  Come, celebrate our Music Ministry!

The Women’s Fellowship annual outdoor Tag Sale will be June 8, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Rain date June 15). Spaces are open to all. Each spot is the size of a parking space. The cost is $20 per spot and/or donate your proceeds to Women’s Fellowship for their projects/missions. Having so many people together prompted more people to browse. We will also be looking for bake sale items. For more information, contact Denise Wilson.

HCCUCC offers its members college scholarships for those who are continuing their education in the fall (not restricted to high school seniors). Please contact the church office for an application form or to have one e-mailed to you immediately. Applications are overdue. Scholarships will be presented during the worship service on Graduate Sunday, June 16.

We want to hear from graduates of high school, vocational school, and colleges (both under-graduate and graduate degrees). These adults & young adults will be recognized at the June 16 worship service. We will need the names for the Graduate Sunday bulletin.

There will be a congregational meeting on June 2, 2019 immediately following church worship service to review the progress and recommendations of the Budget Committee and to vote on any matters that are brought forth. Please make every effort to attend this very important and informational meeting. child care will be provided.

Let us pray.  O Holy God, may you offer us your strength as we face constant change all around us.  Help us to trust that your love for us never changes.  We offer you our thanks and praise.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
