Dear Folks,
Thank you to everyone who made
the Church Auction this past Saturday a great success. A
special thank you to Linda and Bob Sember!
A big thanks to the Confirmation
Class who did such a great job with worship on Sunday.
Kudos!
My prayer day will be this
Thursday, May 16. Please let me know if you have any joys or
concerns you would like me to lift up.
This Sunday, May 19 is the Fifth
Sunday of Easter. Ms. Janice Lautier, the Director of the
Spiritual Care Department at Griffin Hospital will be delivering
the message, "What Is the Desert?" The scripture is Mark
1:1-15. Please welcome her!
I will be away this Sunday for
the baptism of my grandniece, Olivia Michaela Eshleman.
Also on Sunday, City Historian
Robert Novak will lead participants on a walking tour of the
historic Huntington Green. The illustrated talk will begin inside
the Huntington Congregational Church, where parking is allowed, at
1:00 p.m. It will offer glimpses into the historic churches,
municipal buildings, and monuments where Shelton’s history is
hidden in plain sight. $10.00 per person will benefit the Shelton
Historical Society.
The sign up sheet for our next
"LEO" (Let's Eat Out) is up! We're going to Arooga's on 387
Bridgeport Ave. on Thursday, June 6 at 6:30 P.M.
HCCUCC offers its church members
college scholarships for those who are continuing their education
in the fall (not restricted to high school seniors). Please contact
the church office for an application form or to have one e-mailed
to you. The due date for applications is Sunday, May
19th. Scholarships will be presented during the worship
service on Graduate Sunday, June 16th .
There will be a congregational
meeting on June 2, 2019 immediately following church worship
service to review the progress and recommendations of the Budget
Committee and to vote on any matters that are brought forth.
Please make every effort to attend this very important
and informational meeting. Child care will be provided.
Let us pray. O God, help us
to know that "this too shall pass" when we are faced with troubles
and trials. Time does march on, and you are at our side
offering us strength, peace, and hope. We thank you and
praise you. Amen.
In Christ' love,
Rev. Lucille
