Dear Folks,
Happy New Year! May 2019 be
filled with hope, peace, joy, and love!
My deepest thanks to you all for
the gifts, cards, and well-wishes during this Christmas Season. I
am truly blessed to be your pastor!
This Sunday, January 6, is
Epiphany. The scripture is Matthew 2:1-12. The sermon is
"Shine". We will be celebrating Holy Communion. Come start the new
year with this blessing!
We will also be taking
the Emergency Assistance Fund (EAF) offering.
The Mission Committee has developed the Emergency Assistance Fund
to assist people within the Shelton community and/or our church
community who have an urgent, unexpected need for financial
assistance. EAF offering envelopes (yellow) will be available in
the pews. Thank you for your generosity in supporting this outreach
effort.
Following the service on Sunday,
we will be de-decorating the sanctuary. Any help would be greatly
appreciated!
It’s not too late to submit
your 2019 Pledge Card. Cards can be found on the shelf at the
alcove entrance to the Sanctuary. If you have not returned your
pledge card, please do so as soon as possible.
THE 295th ANNUAL
MEETING OF THE HUNTINGTON CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, UCC WILL
BE HELD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE ON
SUNDAY, JANUARY 20, 2019 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING OFFICERS,
ACCEPTING THE 2019 BUDGET, AND ANY OTHER BUSINESS THAT
PROPERLY COMES BEFORE THE MEETING. CHILD CARE WILL BE
PROVIDED. SNOWDATE: THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY, JANUARY 27,
2019.
Let us pray. O God, as another
new year dawns, may you continue to walk with us on our journey
through this life. May we feel your presence upon us as we seek to
serve you faithfully now and always. Amen.
In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
