This Week October 28, 2025

Dear Folks,

Continued prayers for Jamaica and all in the path of Hurricane Melissa.

REMINDER: TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP SATURDAY NIGHT!  DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ENDS NOVEMBER 2!!

This Sunday, November 2, is the Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion and having a time to give thanks for the saints in our lives.  Sunday's scripture is Luke 19:1-10. The sermon is "Come Down".  The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.

It's coming up quickly!   The 2025 Pumpkin & Holly Fair will be held Friday, November 14, 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and Saturday, November 15, 9:30 A.M. to 2 P.M.    To sign up to help with ingredients, go to https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0449ADA629A5F85-59851352-2025#/.  Thank you!

One of the ways we honor the commandments to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves is to care for those who are hungry and/or unhoused. We can do that by donating to the Valley Food Bank, filling our Blessing Box, and donating to Spooner House. November's focus is toilet paper, diapers, wipes, feminine hygiene products.   Please use the box in the Alcove for food donations. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Floods, fires, earthquakes are a reality. So many people are picking up the pieces of their lives after such disasters.  Another way we love our neighbor is to make monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Please engage on our social media.  For Facebook, like and follow our HCCUCC page then like, share, and comment on our content.  For YouTube, subscribe to our page and click the bell for notifications then like, share, and comment on our content.  We have to feed the hungry algorithm! Please also visit our website.  Every click helps get the word out about our church!

Let us pray.  Merciful God, hold us all tightly when we are overcome by things we cannot control. May you grant us peace. Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
