This Week September 16, 2025

Dear Folks,

Hope you are all well.

This Sunday, September 21, is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture is I Timothy 2:1-7.  The sermon is "Keep in Touch".  The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.

Our 2025-2026 Confirmation program begins this Sunday after worship.

2025 SEASON OF GENEROSITY FOR 2026, "DREAMING GOD'S DREAM- Kickoff:  September 28 ---In Gathering Sunday: October 26.

Neighbors in Need (NIN) OFFERING OCTOBER 5 The Neighbors in Need offering supports ministries of justice and compassion, with one third of the offering given to the Council for American Indian Ministries and the remaining two thirds supporting UCC justice ministries. Please give generously.  Envelopes will be available Sept. 28th.  Donations may also be made through EFT via our church website.

SAVE THE DATES:  The 2025 Pumpkin & Holly Fair will be held Friday, November 14, 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. and Saturday, November 15, 9:30 A.M. to 2 P.M.

One of the ways we honor the commandments to love God and to love our neighbors as ourselves is to care for those who are hungry and/or unhoused. We can do that by donating to the Valley Food Bank, filling our Blessing Box, and donating to Spooner House. September's focus is canned/shelf stable protein.  Please use the box in the Alcove for food donations. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Floods, fires, earthquakes are a reality. So many people are picking up the pieces of their lives after such disasters.  Another way we love our neighbor is to make monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Please engage on our social media.  For Facebook, like and follow our HCCUCC page then like, share, and comment on our content.  For YouTube, subscribe to our page and click the bell for notifications then like, share, and comment on our content.  We have to feed the hungry algorithm! Please also visit our website.  Every click helps get the word out about our church!

Let us pray.  O God, may you place in us a desire to love others as you love us.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
