This Week August 6, 2024

 Dear Folks,

Hope you all have your electricity back and are doing well.  Looks like we have more dicey weather coming, so take care!

This Thursday, August 8, is my Prayer Day.  If you have any joys or concerns you would like me to lift up, please let me know.

This Sunday, August 11, is the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost.  Our service will be outdoors.  Please bring a chair and wear a T-shirt of somewhere you have been.  In case of rain or very hot weather, we will be in the sanctuary.  The scripture is Ephesians 4:25-5:2. The sermon is "Behave Yourself".  The service will be livestreamed on Facebook and available for later viewing on Facebook and YouTube.

The Wednesday evening Concerts on the Green continue on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The Vitality Team will be handing out water and the Men's Group will be selling hotdogs.  Thank you to everyone who donated water.  We are good for the rest of the season!!

Woman's Fellowship will be collecting items for Church World Service School Kits during August. Needed are 70-count spiral notebooks. Also, we will be collecting new backpacks for local students in need. There will be a box for donations in the alcove. Questions? See Lois Ricker.

VRRP is working to settle another family in our Valley. We have a possible family of four. We are looking for volunteers and donations.  Please help however you can.  For more info, contact Bob Margolies.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – Items Needed:  Please see the list on the bulletin board in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked! It's close to empty now. Please note that our Spooner House Meal is the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Funds For Clean-Up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Please engage on our social media.  For Facebook, like and follow our HCCUCC page then like, share, and comment on our content.  For YouTube, subscribe to our page and click the bell for notifications then like, share, and comment on our content.  On “X” (formerly known as Twitter), follow our feed, then like and share.  Please also visit our website.  Every click helps get the word out about our church!

Let us pray.  For your many blessings O God, thank you.  Help us to not take for granted that all we are and have are gifts from you. Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
