This Week June 4, 2024

 Dear Folks,

Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather.

Women’s Fellowship’s Annual Tag Sale is this Saturday, June 8th, 9 to 2 (rain date is June 15).  Gently used and clean items may be donated and dropped off in Reuman House. We appreciate if you price them. Price stickers are available in the alcove. Spaces are available for $20, payable the day of the event. Donations of baked goods to sell that day are welcome!  Questions?  See Lois Ricker or Denise Wilson.  Also, the Men's Group will be selling hot dogs, so come hungry!

This coming Sunday, June 9, is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost and Graduate Sunday.  The scripture is Mark 3:7-19a. The sermon is "Called".

June 9 - The Strengthen the Church offering supports the expansion of ministry and growth of UCC local congregations. Support of this offering will help the UCC fulfill its commitment to creating a just world for all by investing in new ministries and practices that meet the needs of local communities. Please bring your gift to the church or visit our website: www.huntingtonucc.org to donate.  Thank you for your support!

Church World Service Health Kits: Women’s Fellowship is collecting items to fill kits! Needed: Hand towels, Wide tooth combs, Finger or toenail clippers, Bath size packaged bars of soap, Standard size band aids. A box for donations is in the Alcove. Questions? See Lois Ricker.

The VRRP will be working toward settling another family in our Valley.  We are looking for volunteers and donations.  Please help however you can.  For more info, contact Bob Margolies.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove.  Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Funds For Clean-Up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  Holy God, with our world so filled with hatred, greed, and violence, we raise our fervent prayers for your love and peace to prevail. May you soften hearts that they would be filled with compassion and empathy.  Amen.

In Christ love,

Rev. Lucille
