This Week March 5, 2024

 Hi Folks,

Hope you're staying dry!

Lenten Quiet Hour series continues tomorrow morning through March 20, 10 A.M. in the library.

Be sure to set your clocks ahead this coming Saturday night before you go to bed.  You do not want to be late for the church service!

This Sunday, March 10, is the Fourth Sunday in Lent.  The scripture is Psalm 107:1-3, 17-32.  The sermon is "No Matter What".

The One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be taken this coming Sunday.  This offering is one way we make our faithful presence evident in the world.

Please note our Holy Week and Easter schedule:  Maundy Thursday, March 28:  Holy Communion and Tenebrae Service, 7 P.M.  Good Friday, March 29:  Good Friday service at Noon.  Easter Sunday:  March 31:  Sunrise at Jones Family Farm, 6:30 A.M., worship at HCCUCC, 9:30 A.M.  All services at HCCUCC will be on-site and Facebook live-streamed.  They will be available for later viewing on Facebook and YouTube.

Be sure to put these dates on your calendar:  April 14 is our official 300th Anniversary Celebration Service.  April 20 is our Women's Fellowship Shredding Event.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove.  Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked, but during the winter, please do not put canned or jarred items, only things that won’t freeze. Please note that our Spooner House Meal is now the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions—see Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

FUNDS FOR CLEAN-UP BUCKETS NEEDED - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  Great Creator, thank you for the beauty of creation and all your creatures.  Help us to take care of and respect them.  Amen.

Blessed Lent!

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
