This Week October 24, 2023

 Dear Folks,

I hope you are well and enjoying the day.  Continued prayers for peace in our world.

This coming Sunday, October 29, is the Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be observing All Saints' Day.  The scripture is Matthew 22:34-40.  The sermon is "What we Remember".  During the week, please think about the saints in your life who have gone to be with God and one or two words that sum up what makes them saints.  We will have time to share on Sunday during the sermon.  Those who will be joining us on-line, if you would like to drop me a note with your names and words, I will be happy to share them.

The 300th Anniversary Committee will be meeting after worship this Sunday in the library.  Even if you have not come before, you are welcome!

My 2023 Sabbatical Review is on Sunday, November 5, 6:30 P.M., in Fellowship Hall. Refreshments will be served.

The 2023 Pumpkin & Holly Fair will take place on November 17, 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. & November 18, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Women's Fellowship can use your help and are seeking donations of ingredients to prepare the food. we will be setting up after worship on November 12, plus help for the Fair and for break down after.  To donate food prep items, please use this link:

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House always needs replenishing! There is a list of needed items in the Alcove.  Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked! Please note that our Spooner House Meal is now the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions--see Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Thank you to everyone who has returned their Faith Promise/Pledge cards. If you have not, please do so as soon as possible. Thank you for your faithfulness!  Because of YOU, our Church changes lives!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  Gracious God, you love us more than we can possibly imagine. May that sense of love fill our hearts, not just for ourselves, but for all people, all creation.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
