Blessings on your week as our Lenten season begins.
Lenten Quiet Hour will begin on TOMORROW, February 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the library. The book is "Touched by Blessing" by Gunilla Norris.
Ash Wednesday Service will be held on TOMORROW at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary and Facebook live-stream. Imposition of the ashes will be offered. The live stream can be seen at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC.
This coming Sunday, February 26, is the First Sunday in Lent. The scripture is Matthew 4:1-11. The sermon will be a dramatic monologue, "Witness to the Temptation".
Women’s Fellowship’s Annual Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner is on Sunday, March 19th at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults & $8 for children 10 and under. Hot dog dinners: 2 hot dogs w/vegetables-$10.00; 1 hot dog w/chips-$4.00. Tickets will be on sale after worship. Proceeds will benefit the church’s Operating Budget!!!!
Women’s Fellowship will be preparing & selling Manhattan & New England Clam Chowder plus a variety of homemade breads. To place your order, sign up on the sheet in the alcove. Pick-ups will be on Sunday, March 5th and Sunday, April 2nd. The Chowder is $12.00 a quart. The prices of the homemade breads vary.
Valley Refugee Resettlement Project— We are ready to settle a well vetted refugee family! Volunteers & donations welcome! Please drop your donation in the basket on Sundays or use the on-line option on our website. For more info, contact the church.
Funds for Clean-up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House - Items Needed: shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce. There is a box in the Alcove for donations. Also, our Blessing Box needs to be stocked, but during the winter, please do not put canned or jarred items, only things that won’t freeze. Please be generous!
