This Week September 13, 2022

 Dear Folk,

Happy anniversary!  Today we celebrate 13 years together!

Thank you so much for the beautiful roses for our anniversary and for my 35th ordination anniversary on the 15th.  I appreciate your thoughtfulness! I am blessed!

This coming Sunday, September 18, is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost.  The scripture is Luke 15:1-10.  The sermon is "Lost and Found".

The choir will also be singing this Sunday.  If anyone would like to join in, the anthem is pretty simple.  Please be in the sanctuary no later than 9:05 a.m. for a brief practice.

We are in the final weeks of our Season of Generosity which culminates at our “In-Gathering” Sunday on September 25. Our theme is “What HCCUCC Means to Me”. Please consider thinking and praying on this topic, jot down your thoughts and feelings, and send them to me to be used in a Sunday service.  One more is needed for September 25!   Your Faith Promise packet will be in the mail and via email at the end of this week. Thank you!

VALLEY REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROJECT – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!  A well vetted and needy refugee family is waiting to find safe haven! Our church's VRRP group has moved forward with full funding, team organization, and potential housing in place!  All we need is YOU!    A donation basket is also set out in the sanctuary for your generous contributions.  Online donations on our website are also most welcome.
For more info, please the church.

Clean-up buckets are needed after the recent devastating floods. Women’s Fellowship is asking for monetary donations for Church World Service to assemble and ship these buckets for distribution. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket in the sanctuary or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent. Thank you for your generosity.

The Valley food Bank at Spooner House is in need of these items: shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce.  There is a box in the Alcove and also the “wishing well” in Fellowship Hall for your donations.  Also, our Blessing Box needs to be stocked. Please be generous!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. You can also donate on our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O God, may the power of your love move us from apathy to action to co-create a just and peaceful world for all.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
