This Week October 19, 2021

 Dear Folks,

Hope you are having a pleasant week.

My prayer day is this Thursday, October 21.  Please let me know if you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up.

This Sunday, October 24 is the Twenty Second Sunday after Pentecost.  The scripture is Mark 10:46-52.  The sermon is "Take Heart".

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House is running low on food.  Specifically needed items are:  shelf stable milk and powdered milk, pancake mix and syrup, peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and applesauce, garbanzo and navy beans, canned tuna and chicken, oatmeal and other cereals, and pasta sauce.  There will be a box in the Alcove and also the "wishing well" in Fellowship Hall for your donations.  Or you may take your donations directly to Spooner House. Please be generous!

On October 31st, the service will be devoted to remembering our deceased loved ones.  Please send me the names of the loved ones you would like to honor no later than Thursday, October 28th  You can either give it to me in writing on Sunday morning, mail it to me at 19 Church St.,  send by church email at hcc@snet.net, or by my personal email at revluce23@comcast.net, or drop it off in our black mailbox which is our office box outside the church.   Please note that unless you specifically wish it, I will not be using last names because of the very public nature of our live- stream worship.  Thank you!

The 2021 Pumpkin and Holly Fair will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021, 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 20, 9:30 a.m.  – 2:30 a.m.  Please join us for take out food and creative crafts!

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions. Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, huntingtonucc.org. You may also take advantage of our Electronic Fund Transfer option.  Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O Holy God, help us to be mindful of the needs of people around us.  May you open our hearts and our hands with love and generosity to do what we can to respond.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
