This Week July 9, 2019

Dear Folks,

I sure hope you are enjoying this lovely day!

Tomorrow night, July 10, is the Concert on the Green, featuring the Bernadettes.  The Vitality Team will be handing out water and getting sign ups for the free gift card give away.  The Men's Group will be selling hot dogs.  Come on down and say hi!  And, speaking of the Concerts on the Green, Vitality Team would be grateful for donations of bottled water and $25 gift cards to local establishments.  Thanks in advance!

My prayer day is on Thursday, July 11.  Please let me know if you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up.

This coming Sunday is July 14, the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost.  I will be doing a sermon based on the theme of Kirchentag, the event I attended while in Germany.  The scripture is II Kings 18:19.  The sermon title is "What Confidence Is This?"

Sunday, July 21 is July's Outdoor Worship!  We will be outside near the maple tree at the edge of the parking lot, weather permitting.  If rain, we will be in the Fellowship Hall.  Come and worship al fresco! Bring a comfy chair and wear your favorite and/or funniest T-shirt!

Please take note of the poster in the Alcove with suggested items for the Valley Food Bank bin in Fellowship Hall. Of course, all items are gratefully accepted, but the Missions Committee put together a list that attempts to target items that may be needed more during certain seasons or months. The need is great, so please be generous!

Huntington Center Nursery School 3 & 4 yr. old registration is now open. Registration forms can be found on the HCNS bulletin board in the alcove or contact our Director, Linda Rizzitelli at 203-929-7197.

My Sister’s Place bin is back in Fellowship Hall for you to make your tax-deductible donations by filling out the donation form, take your copy and attach or enclose their copy in with your items.

Let us pray.  O Holy One, Creator of All, may we trust in your strength, may we depend on your guidance, and may we listen for your voice.  It is in you we have our confidence.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
