Dear Folks,
Hope you are all warm and dry on this dreary, dampish day!
This coming Sunday, October 29, is the culmination of our Season of Generosity, "In Gathering Sunday". Please
bring your "Faith Promise" (pledge) cards with you, as well as your
completed Electronic Fund Transfer authorization forms, if you so
choose.
The scripture on Sunday is Psalm 138.
The "Keeping the Conversation Going..." topic is "How Can I Say Thank
You To God?" We will also be having our HCCUCC: A Year In Review
presentation, which is always fun!! Hope to see you all there on
Sunday!
Our next "LEO" (Let's Eat Out) will be on
Wednesday, November 8 at Barra in the Big Y plaza at 389 Bridgeport
Avenue. We will meet there at 6: 30 P.M. Please sign-up in the
Alcove. If Barra is not open by then, we will meet at the Bull and
Barley, 350 Bridgeport Avenue. Please watch for announcements!!
It’s coming! The Pumpkin & Holly Fair will be here before we know it , November 17th & 18th.
We need your help to make this event a success. Please contact the
co-chairs: Terri Johnston, Jaqui Olivo, Judy Tucker, or Justine Connery
if you would like to contribute and/or help in anyway.
Be
sure to mark you calendar for the Shelton Clergy Association Interfaith
Thanksgiving service on Tuesday, November 21, 7 P.M. at the Good
Shepherd Episcopal Church, 182 Coram Avenue. The offering will go to
Spooner House. The imperishable food gathering will go to the Valley
Food Bank.
Let us pray. O Holy One, your love
vaster than anything we could imagine. Yet, each one of us is held
tightly, yet gently in its eternal grasp. Help us to rest in that love;
help us to trust in that love. Amen.
In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
