Dear Folks,
I hope you had a pleasant holiday
weekend, but, most of all, I hope you took the time to remember and
to honor those who gave so much for our freedom.
Saturday is our Women's
Fellowship Tag Sale, 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Come, set up your own table
($20 per spot) or come to shop!! You never know what
treasures you may find! For more info or to reserve your spot, contact call
Denise Wilson or the church office.
This Sunday is Pentecost, the
birthday of the church, June 4. Wear red! We will be celebrating
both sacraments: Holy Communion and the Baptism of Camden Miller,
Robin Hartel's grandson.
This Sunday we will be also
collecting for our Emergency Assistance Fund, which we do every
first Sunday of the month. The Mission Committee has developed this
fund to assist people within the Shelton community and/or our
church community who have an urgent, unexpected need for financial
assistance. Please use the yellow envelopes in your pew rack and
please be generous!
Sunday, June 11 is a big day!
It's Children's and Robert Wilson Sunday, and Confirmation. Please
come and celebrate our church's children and youth!
June 11 is also our Strengthen
the Church Offering. This UCC offering supports church growth,
pastoral and lay leadership development, youth and young adult
ministries within conferences and administered by Local Church
Ministries.
Let us pray. O God, help us to
breathe, to breath deeply, to fill our lungs with the breathe of
your Spirit. In this breath is our life, our strength, and our
hope. Amen.
