Fwd: This Week

Hi Folks,

Today is Earth Day.  Let's all take a moment to think about how we can better treat our one and only home!

Congratulations to Sue Lindley and Gail Schoennagel who will be honored at the Connecticut Women of the United Church of Christ gathering on Saturday!  We here at HCCUCC are so grateful for their commitment and faithfulness.

This Sunday is our Youth Sunday.  The Confirmation Class has written and will be leading worship.  The scriptures are I Corinthians 13 and Matthew 22:34-40.  The message is "Real Love".  Please come and support our youth!

Saturday, May 2, starting at 9 A.M. is our Spring Clean Up for the church grounds. Come on out and help us spruce the place up! Coffee and donuts will be provided.

Following our worship service on Sunday, May 3, we will head out for a "Prayer Walk".  We will take a stroll down Church and Huntington Streets, starting and ending with prayer.  Following the walk, we will head to "Sassafras" for lunch.

A reminder that the 7th Annual Treasures, Talents and Tastes Auction is coming up on Saturday, May 16th, 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  The auctions that will be taking place are:  Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Bag Auction.  There is a $10.00 per person registration fee. A portion of the registration fee will once again go to support Spooner House and each registrant will receive three tickets for use in the bag auction.  There's something for everyone: delicious food (don't eat before you come!), treasures, talents, and services to bid on. A fun way to support our church. If you have any questions, please contact Bob or Linda Sember at 203 929-5853.

Let us pray.  O God, you have placed us on this earth and have charged us with its care.  Forgive us for not cherishing it.  Help us to do a better job of it.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
