This Sunday, September 5, is the Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion.  The scripture is James 2:1-10.  The sermon is "No Distinctions".    We will be worshiping in person and also live streaming on Facebook, 9:30 A.M. 

 

With the rise of COVID cases, masks are required in the church building for everyone.  Let's keep everyone safe!

 

Our Outdoor Worship and Pizza Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 12, 4 P.M. at HCCUCC, lower parking lot near the kitchen. There will be no morning worship.  The 4 P.M. worship will be live streamed. It will be a pizza dinner.  Reservations are required so we know how much food to get. Please sign up in person on Sunday, or contact the church office at 203-929-1223.  The cost us $8 per person or $16 per family.  You can prepay Dan or pay the day of the picnic.  The rain date is Sept. 19.

This Week August 17, 2021

 Dear Folks,

Continued prayers for all the struggle, injustice, strife, and suffering in our world.

My prayer day is Thursday.  If you have a joy or concern you would like me to raise up, please let me know.

Just a reminder that Dick Dormer's calling hours at Riverview Funeral Home are on Friday, August 20 from 4 P.M. to 5:45 P.M.  followed by his funeral.

This Sunday is the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost.  The scripture is Ephesians 6:1-17.  The sermon is "Armor of God".   The service will be live streamed on Facebook.

Following the service, there will be a Choir Meeting for anyone interested in the possibility of singing come the Fall.

This Week August 11, 2021

 Dear Folks,

Continued prayers for the Leung's and the Dormer's and for all who have lost loved ones.  

 

This Sunday is the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost.  We will have an outdoor service, weather permitting (not too hot, no threat of rain), in the back parking lot.  The scripture is Ephesians 4:1-16.  The sermon is "All in This Together".  Wear a T-shirt with your favorite vacation destination/happy place!

 

Thank you for the opportunity for my 2021 Continuing Education.  I attended the Chautauqua Institution for week long events on the topic "Building a Culture of Empathy".  It was informative, inspirational, and enjoyable.  You'll be hearing more through my sermons!

This Sunday, August 1 is the Tenth Sunday after Pentecost. Thanks to Deacons Terri Johnston and Gail Schoennagel for leading the service. We will be celebrating Holy Communion. For those in person, please bring your own elements. There will be "Miracle Meals" available. For those virtual, please have your elements handy. At our last Holy Communion, I preconsecrated all the elements, so we're all set!
 
August 8 is the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost. Our HCCUCC Thanks to Moderator, Sue Schmitt who will be preaching and Deacon Sue Lindley who will be leading. The services will be live-streamed on Facebook at. https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC . It will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.
