Dear Folks,

I do hope you had a relaxing Memorial Day weekend and that you did take some time to remember in gratitude those who gave so much so we may be free.

Congratulations to our 5 young people who were confirmed on Sunday:  Ian Boath, Emma Crawford, Zach McEwen, Brooke Roberts, and Eric Zelanin.

The HCCUCC Council Retreat is this Saturday.  Please keep us in your prayers as we do visioning for the future of our church.

This Sunday is Music Appreciation Sunday.  We will be recognizing all those who have contributed to our music ministry as well as dedicating our new sanctuary piano.

The Sunday scripture is John 3:1-17. The sermon is "In the Dead of Night".

Please let our Office Manager, Karen Boroski, at hcc@snet.net know of any graduates in preparation for our June 21 Graduate Sunday and for inclusion in the July Belfry.

"My Sister's Place" in Ansonia has placed a bin in Fellowship Hall to collect clean, gently used clothes, accessories, and small household items. No furniture (you can take it yourself to the store), baby equipment, old books and magazines, stuff animals, or broken/more than 5 year old electronics, including computers.  Donation slips for tax purposes will be available. The proceeds of "My Sister's Place" go to BHCare's "Umbrella" Center for Domestic Violence Services to aid domestic abuse victims and their children.  What a great way to clean out the closets and help those in need. It's a win-win!!!

Women’s Fellowship Outdoor Tag & Bake Sale will be on Saturday, June 6^th (Rain date is Saturday, June 13^th!) We will hold it in the parking lot. Spaces will be $20/each and  you may reserve more than one.  Spaces are open to everyone & anyone so tell your friends, neighbors, and coworkers! Also you may donate items to be sold with profits going to Women’s Fellowship projects/mission. We are also looking for donations of baked goods. Reserve early to get a good spot! Call Denise Wilson at 203-929-2656 or email her at purplepoodle23@yahoo.com.

Vacation Bible School is coming up, June 29 through July 2, 5:30 P.M. to 7:45 P.M.  The theme is "G-Force". Grab a registration form for your children or friends that might enjoy this great program in the alcove or volunteer to help. This is for children who have completed at least one year of preschool- 4^th grade. Food donations are also needed and will soon be hung up in the alcove as well. We also need someone who would be willing to cook on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  Please consider helping us bring children closer to God. Any questions please contact Kirsten Keith at 203-929-4225.

Dear Folks,

Thank you to everyone who donated, worked, and attended HCCUCC's 7^th Annual Treasures, Talents and Tastes Auction.  Special thanks to Bob and Linda Sember!! It was a great success!

This weekend is a double time of commemoration.  As a church body on Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, by celebrating the confirmation of five of our young people.  As a country, we honor those who have gone before us, especially our veterans.  We remember and give thanks to them.

Sunday's scripture is Acts 2:1-21.  The sermon is "Scary Stuff".
