This Week June 25, 2024

Dear Folks,

It was on this date in 1957 that two denominations, the Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Congregational Christian Church united to become the United Church of Christ.  Happy 67th birthday, UCC!!!

 

The Wednesday evening Concerts on the Green begin this Wednesday, June 26th, at 7 p.m. July 3rd will be at Veteran's' Memorial Park, then the rest from July 10th to August 28th will be on the Huntington Green. We usually begin set up between and 6:30 p.m. The Vitality Team will be handing out water and the Men's Group will be selling hotdogs.  Donations of bottled water and held are greatly appreciated!  Please put the water in Fellowship Hall and mark it "COG". Come on down!! 

 

This Sunday, June 30th, is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be having an Outdoor Worship.  The scripture is Ephesians 3:14-21.  The sermon is "God's Abundance".  Please bring a chair and wear an inspirational T-shirt.  In the event of rain, we will be in the sanctuary. 

Church World Service School Kits: Woman's Fellowship will be collecting items for School Kits during July & August. Needed are 70-count spiral notebooks, hand-held pencil sharpeners, and crayons in box of 24. In addition, we will be collecting new backpacks for local students in need. There will be a box for donations in the alcove. Questions? See Lois Ricker.

 

VRRP is working to settle another family in our Valley.    We are looking for volunteers and donations.  Please help however you can.  For more info, contact Bob Margolies.

 

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – Items Needed:  Please see the list on the bulletin board in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked! Please note that our Spooner House Meal is now the 3^rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

 

Funds For Clean-Up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

This Week June 18, 2024

This coming Sunday, June 23, is the Fifth Sunday after Pentecost.  The scripture is Mark 4:35-41.  The sermon is "We're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat". 

 

The Concert on the Green series begins on June 26!  July 3rd will be at Veteran's Park, and July 10 will be back on the Huntington Green through August 28.  We are in need of bottled water to give out as a gesture of goodwill. Please put it in the Fellowship Hall, marked with COG.  The Men's Group will be selling hot dogs.  Volunteers are needed to help!  If you would like to help hand out water, please contact me.  Thank you!

Needed: Hand towels, Wide tooth combs, Finger or toenail clippers, Bath size packaged bars of soap, Standard size band aids. A box for donations is in the Alcove.  Starting in July, they will be collecting for CWS School Kits and backpacks for our local schools. Questions? See Lois Ricker.

Thank you to everyone who participated in anyway at our Tag Sale on Saturday.  It was a great day!

 

This Thursday, June 13, is my prayer day.  If you have any joys or concerns you would like me to share, please let me know.

This Week June 4, 2024

 Dear Folks,

 Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather.

 

Women’s Fellowship’s Annual Tag Sale is this Saturday, June 8^th, 9 to 2 (rain date is June 15).  Gently used and clean items may be donated and dropped off in Reuman House. We appreciate if you price them. Price stickers are available in the alcove. Spaces are available for $20, payable the day of the event. Donations of baked goods to sell that day are welcome!  Questions?  See Lois Ricker or Denise Wilson.  Also, the Men's Group will be selling hot dogs, so come hungry!
