Dear Folks,
Please stop for a moment tomorrow, 9/11, to remember and to say a prayer.
My Prayer Day is this Thursday, September 12. Please let me know if you have any joys or concerns you would like me to raise up.
Our Outdoor Worship & Picnic will be held this Sunday, September 15, 5 P.M., at Pemberley (the Parsonage) 160 Huntington Street. This year, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary together as pastor and congregation! It's going to be a pizza party! If you have not already RSVP'ed, please do so ASAP by calling the church office or replying to this email. It's $5 per person, $10 per family. Otherwise, you do not need to bring anything, unless you'd like to bring a chair, a blanket, or a bottle. Hope to see you then!
Choir is starting back up after summer vacation. The first practice will be Thursday, September 19 at 7 P.M. in the sanctuary. Our first Sunday service will be September 22. No experience is necessary, just a desire to make a joyful noise for God!
Please take note of the poster in the Alcove with suggested items for the Valley Food Bank bin in Fellowship Hall. Of course, all items are gratefully accepted, but the Missions Committee put together a list that attempts to target items that may be needed more during certain seasons or months. The need is great, so please be generous!
Women’s Fellowship will be collecting School Supplies for the Church World Service Kits in the spring. Now is the time to purchase the items as we ready for Back to School. We will be collecting: ~ spiral notebooks (70 count) ~ pair blunt scissors (rounded) ~ hand-held pencil sharpener ~ new pencils w/erasers ~ 12” ruler (30 centimeters) ~ large erasers ~ box 24 crayons (only 24) All donations may be placed in the large white storage box in Fellowship Hall. Any questions please contact Laura Salvio.
We are in are in the midst of our Season of Generosity. Please prayerfully consider your gift to HCCUCC and return your Faith Promise cards as soon as possible.
Consecration Sunday is September 29. Thank you for your faithfulness!
Let us pray. O Holy God, help us to remember the tragic events of 9/11. Help us to remember those who are still grieving and those who are still suffering. Help us to prayer our prayers of comfort, hope, and peace. Amen.
In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
