This Sunday, March 2, is Transfiguration Sunday. We will be celebrating Women's Fellowship Sunday (postponed from February 9), and Holy Communion. Be sure to have your elements handy. The scripture is Luke 9:28-36. The sermon is "Masks". The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday.

Valley Refugee Resettlement Project is still active and investigating other avenues to bring the family to safety. Please watch for updates.

The Shelton Community Ash Wednesday Service will be held at HCCUCC on March 5th at 7 p.m. The service will be live streamed on Facebook and saved on Facebook and YouTube for later viewing.

Shelton Community Lenten Dinner & Devotions will be held on Wednesdays, March 12 at Huntington United Methodist Church, March 26 at HCCUCC and April 9 at First United Methodist Church. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by devotions at 7 p.m. The theme is "Unified in Hope". The offering will go to Spooner House. Please write checks directly to Spooner House.

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House is in need of food. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked frequently. Our Spooner House Meal is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

Funds for Clean-up Buckets Urgently Needed. There are clean-ups happening still from flooding and wildfires We are collecting monetary donations for Church World Service clean-up buckets. Please make checks out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line, then drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays, or use the on-line option on our website.

This Week February 18, 2025

Looks like we have a decent weather week, besides the cold!  Stay warm!

 

This Sunday, February 23, is the Seventh Sunday after Epiphany.  It's Scout Sunday.  The Choir will also be singing. The scripture is Luke 6:27-31.  The sermon is "The Golden Rule". The service will be live streamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and will be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube later on Sunday. 

 

VRRP is still active and investigating other avenues to bring the family to safety.  Please watch for updates.

 

Lent Begins on March 5^th.  Quiet Hour will be held on Wednesdays in Lent at 10 A.M. in the library.  We are continuing with the book, “The Friendship of Women”.  Please sign up in the Alcove if you plan on attending and note if you need a book.
