This Week July 30, 2024

 

Dear Folks,
 
I'm back from a very enriching continuing education event and relaxing vacation.  Thank you for the opportunity!
 
This Sunday, August 4, is the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost.  We will be celebrating Holy Communion, so be sure to have your elements handy.  The scripture is John 6:24-35.  The sermon is "Being Fed".
 
The Emergency Assistance Fund Offering will be taken this Sunday. Envelopes will be in the pew.
 
The Wednesday evening Concerts on the Green continue on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The Vitality Team will be handing out water and the Men's Group will be selling hotdogs.  Donations of bottled water and held are greatly appreciated!  Please put the water in Fellowship Hall and mark it "COG". Come on down!! 
 
Outdoor Worship August 11:  Please bring a chair and join us!  In case of rain, we will be in the sanctuary. Wear a T-shirt from one of your favorite places!
 
Woman's Fellowship will be collecting items for Church World Service School Kits during July & August. Needed are 70-count spiral notebooks, hand-held pencil sharpeners, and crayons in box of 24. In addition, we will be collecting new backpacks for local students in need. There will be a box for donations in the alcove. Questions? See Lois Ricker.
 
VRRP is working to settle another family in our Valley.    We are looking for volunteers and donations.  Please help however you can.  For more info, contact Bob Margolies.
 
The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – Items Needed:  Please see the list on the bulletin board in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked! Please note that our Spooner House Meal is the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions? See Holly or Gerry Fassbender.
 
Funds For Clean-Up Buckets Needed - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.
 
Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital. Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website, www.huntingtonucc.org. Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available. Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. Any way you give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

This Week July 2, 2024

 Dear Folks,

 

Can you believe that it's July?  Enjoy the day!

 

The Wednesday evening Concerts on the Green will continue on July 10 on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. July 3 will be at Veteran's' Memorial Park. We usually begin set up between and 6:30 p.m. The Vitality Team will be handing out water and the Men's Group will be selling hotdogs.  Donations of bottled water and held are greatly appreciated!  Please put the water in Fellowship Hall and mark it "COG". Come on down!! 

 

This Sunday, July 7th, is the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost.   The scripture is Mark 5:25-34.  The sermon is "Being Proactive". We will be celebrating Holy Communion, so be sure to have your elements ready.
