This Week February 23

Dear Folks,

Looks like we are in for some stormy weather!  Stay safe and stay warm!

Quiet Hour continues tomorrow morning at 10 A.M.  We will be looking at chapter 4.

The Ecumenical Lenten Service will be held tomorrow evening at the Huntington United Methodist Church, Maple Tree Hill Road. Dinner will be at 6 P.M., worship at 7 P.M. I will be preaching on Mary, Mother of Jesus.  The offering will go to the Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services.  Please make checks out to "Shelton Clergy Association".

This Sunday's scripture is Isaiah 55:1-9.  The sermon is "Open Invitation".

HCCUCC will be sharing our space with St. Paul's for an Episcopal Mission conference on March 5 from 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.  IIf you are available, please consider volunteering for an hour or more that day.  We will just be here to give direction or answer any questions about the church building.  There is a sign up sheet in the alcove. Contact me for more info.

The 28th Annual Bowl-2-Benefit The Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence Services will be held on Saturday, March 12th at AMF Milford Lanes. If you wish to join our Team or would like to make a donation, please see Judy Tucker, Gordon Harris or me.  You can also make a donation at

The bin from My Sister’s Place is in Fellowship Hall for you to make your tax deductible donations. It will be there until the end of April. Please fill out the donation form, take your copy and attach or enclose their copy in with your items.

COMING SOON!  Please watch the Alcove for sign up sheets for the Seder dinner and readers for the Seder and the Tenebrae service.

Let us pray.  As we journey ever deeper into Lent, may your wisdom and guidance lead us on the path of compassion and generosity.  Help us to listen to your voice rather than the voice of greed and selfishness.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
