May your Holy Week be filled with wonder, contemplation, and gratitude.

 

Our Maundy Thursday service, including Holy Communion and Tenebrae, will be March 28 at 7 P.M.  

 

Our Good Friday service will be held on March 29 at Noon.  

 

HOW MAY WE EXPERIENCE THE DAWN OF EASTER WITHOUT FACING THE DARKNESS OF MAUNDY THURSDAY AND GOOD FRIDAY?

 

Both services will be livestreamed on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/HCCUCC and posted on Facebook and YouTube for later viewing.

 

Easter Sunday Sunrise service will be held at 6:30 A.M. at Jones Family Farm.

 

Our Easter service at HCCUCC will be at our usual 9:30 A.M. time.  As usual, this service will be livestreamed on Facebook and posted on Facebook and YouTube for later viewing. 

 

The scriptures for Easter Sunday are Job 19:25-27a and Matthew 28:1-10.  The sermon is "Go and Tell".

 

April 14 is our official 300th Anniversary Celebration Service! Please make plans to come!

 

April 20 is the HCCUCC's Women's Fellowship Shredding & Food Drive, 9 A.M. to Noon.

 

Our Church Auction will be held on May 11.

Lenten Quiet Hour concludes tomorrow morning, March 20, 10 A.M. in the library. 

 

This Sunday, March 24, is the Palm Sunday. The scripture is John 12:12-16.  The sermon is "Hosanna!"

The Valley Food Bank at Spooner House – There is a list of needed items in the Alcove.  Please pick up a copy. Please use the box in the Alcove for donations. The Blessing Box also needs to be stocked, but during the winter, please do not put canned or jarred items, only things that won’t freeze. Please note that our Spooner House Meal is now the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Questions—see Holly or Gerry Fassbender.

 

FUNDS FOR CLEAN-UP BUCKETS NEEDED - Women’s Fellowship is collecting monetary donations for Church World Service Clean up buckets. Checks may be made out to HCC with “Buckets” on the memo line. You can drop your donation in the bucket on Sundays or you can use the on-line option on our website. The need now is urgent.

Lenten Quiet Hour series continues tomorrow morning through March 20, 10 A.M. in the library. 

 

This coming Thursday, March 14, is my Prayer Day.  If you have any joys or concerns you would like me to lift up, please let me know.

 

This Sunday, March 17, is the Fifth Sunday in Lent.  The Rev. Margret Hofmeister, Area Conference Minister of the Southern New England Conference, will be joining us and will be preaching.  Let's welcome her warmly!

 

Women’s Fellowship will hold their Annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Sunday, March 17th at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales are now closed.

This Week March 5, 2024

Lenten Quiet Hour series continues tomorrow morning through March 20, 10 A.M. in the library.  

 

Be sure to set your clocks ahead this coming Saturday night before you go to bed.  You do not want to be late for the church service!

 

This Sunday, March 10, is the Fourth Sunday in Lent.  The scripture is Psalm 107:1-3, 17-32.  The sermon is "No Matter What".  

 

The One Great Hour of Sharing offering will be taken this coming Sunday.  This offering is one way we make our faithful presence evident in the world.
