This Week September 22, 2020

Dear Folks,

It's Fall.  It's time to put on a sweater and go get a pumpkin spice coffee at DD.

Just a reminder that attendance in the sanctuary is by reservation only.  Reserve your seat by emailing the church office at hcc@snet.net. The deadline for reservations is the Thursday before each Sunday.  If you are planning to attend most of the time, you only need to reserve once, but you will need to notify the office if you are not coming.  The maximum attendance is 30.  Mask must be worn and physical distancing must be observed.  The success and safety of our in building services depend on you!

This Sunday, September 27, is the Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost.  It's the culmination of our Season of Generosity, In Gathering Sunday.  This year's theme is "I Am About to Do a New Thing".  The scripture is Isaiah 43:19a.  The sermon is "New Thing".  The service will be live streamed on Facebook.  Preceding the service will be our annual Season of Generosity retrospect of the church year.  For those of you watching from home, this will be posted on Facebook and YouTube later.

If you have not returned your Faith Promise/Pledge card yet, please do so ASAP.  They will be consecrated this Sunday.

Looking ahead:  October 4 is World Communion.  Please bring or have your elements ready.

We are planning (depending on the weather) to have a last hurrah outdoor worship on October 11 followed by a physically distanced fellowship hour in the back parking lot.  Bring your own beverage and goodie!  If attending, you will still need to reserve your spot.  The service will be live streamed.  If the weather is bad, we will move to the sanctuary and forego the fellowship hour.

Please continue to support HCCUCC with your contributions.  Now more than ever, our mission of being the beacon of love and light on the Huntington Green and beyond is vital.  Contributions sent in by mail are welcome. Please consider donating at our website,www.huntingtonucc.org. The GIVEPLUS app can be downloaded on your cell phone.  Electronic Fund Transfer giving is also available.  Please email the church, hcc@snet.net if you would like a form to set that up. However you choose to give is a blessing and is greatly appreciated.

Let us pray.  O God, as change and uncertainty are inevitable, you are constant.  May we rest on you, O Rock of Our Salvation, knowing we have our true bearings in you.  Amen.

In Christ's love,

Rev. Lucille
