I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable July 4th!
Thank you all for the opportunity I had to travel to Germany for Kirchentag and to visit some important sites in the Protestant Reformation. I had an informative and enjoyable time. My travelogue will be on Sunday, October 13 at 6:30 p.m., so please put that on your calendar!
It's not to late to attend the Habitat for Humanity work day tomorrow, July 6, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., or for however long you can attend. Please contact Bob Moseley if you plan on working and/or for more information.
This coming Sunday, July 7 is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Prior to the service, we will had a patriotic hymn sing in honor of Independence Day. The service will be in the Taize style, including Holy Communion. We will also be taking the Emergency Assistance Fund offering. The yellow envelopes for the offering will be in the pews.
Summer Concerts on the Green are in full swing on Wednesdays during the summer! The Men’s Group will sell hot dogs in our parking lot. All men are encouraged to come and help. Our Vitality Team will continue to hand out free water and hold a free gift card give away during this time. If anyone would like to help out, you are more than welcome to come. We also appreciate donations of water and/or a $25 gift card to a local store or eating place. Thank you!
Sunday, July 21 is Outdoor Worship! We will be outside near the maple tree at the edge of the parking lot, weather permitting. If rain, we will be in the Fellowship Hall. Come and worship al fresco! Wear your favorite and/or funniest T-shirt!
Huntington Center Nursery School 3 & 4 yr. old registration is now open. Registration forms can be found on the HCNS bulletin board in the alcove or contact our Director, Linda Rizzitelli at 203-929-7197.
My Sister’s Place bin is back in Fellowship Hall for you to make your tax deductible donations by filling out the donation form, take your copy and attach or enclose their copy in with your items.
Please take note of the poster in the Alcove with suggested items for the Valley Food Bank bin in Fellowship Hall. Of course, all items are gratefully accepted, but the Missions Committee put together a list that attempts to target items that may be needed more during certain seasons or months. The need is great, so please be generous!
Let us pray. O Holy God, thank you for the freedom we enjoy, for all those who have fought and work for it, and for all those who do not have it. May we all in our own way, strive for freedom and justice, not just for ourselves, but for all. Amen.
In Christ's love,
