Dear Folks,

Another week, another winter storm predicted!  Stay safe and warm!

This Sunday, February 11, is Transfiguration Sunday.  We will also be celebrating Women's Sunday and the baptism of Mila Liddel.  Full day!!  The scripture is Mark 9:-2-9.  The sermon is "Forever Changed".

Following worship this Sunday, the Christian Education Committee will be sponsoring a MARDI GRAS PANCAKE AND GAME BREAKFAST. Come for some delicious pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. We will also be playing Pictionary! There will be a free-will offering to help defray the Sunday School budget.

Our annual Lenten Quiet Hour will begin on February 14, 10 a.m. in the library.  We will be continuing the book, “SIMPLE WAYS TOWARDS THE SACRED” by Gunilla Norris. The discussion will be led by Rev. Lucille.  The sign-up sheet is located in the alcove or call the church office at 203-929-1223.

Ash Wednesday Service will be held here at HCCUCC on February 14 at 7 p.m.

Women’s Fellowship will be preparing Manhattan and New England Clam Chowder and a variety of homemade breads. To place your order, sign up  in the alcove or call the church office.  Pick-up will be on Sundays, February 25 and March 25. Chowder is $10.00 per quart. Prices on the homemade breads vary.

Women’s Fellowship is bringing back Rebecca Miller for a special tax workshop on Sunday, February 25, following our service.   Refreshments will be served and all are welcome! Sign up is in the alcove. Snow date is March 4.

The HCCUCC Choir is looking for voices to sing for Easter.  James Bruni, our Minister of Music, has an epic anthem planned!  If you would to join, please contact James or come to practice on Thursdays at 7:15 p.m.  Let's make a joyful noise!

Women's Fellowship will be collecting items for Church World Service kits until April 8th. A full list of these Items can be found on the CWS table in Fellowship Hall. Also, your donations can be left in the CWS box or Women’s Fellowship box. Please see Laura Salvio with any questions.

Please submit your UCC/FEA dues of $12 per church member by March 1 to offset the cost for 2018. This can be done by Sunday offering, mail, mobile app, or through our website on-line giving. Thank you for your continued support and faithfulness.

Let us pray. O Holy One, may your Spirit dwell in our hearts, opening us up to our true purpose and potential in your Realm.  Help us to live your love.  Amen.

In Christ's love,
Rev. Lucille
